Dreams of Flying

Nov 7, 2015 by

by Caroline Walrad, Ph.D. Dreams will lead a homeopath to a certain homeopathic remedy. For those that remember their dreams, these nighttime videos may have a ‘theme’. Some themes may be of falling, may be frightful, theme of fighting, misfortune, being on a journey, or robbers. In the following Homeopathic Repertory different types of dreams take up 19 full pages. The dreams of flying with or without an airplane are common. If this is your ‘theme’, keep reading! According to Homeopathic Medical Repertory by Robin Murphy, N.D., the following two remedies have dreams of flying on a regular basis: Apis and Phosphorous. These two remedies have been chosen from the remedy list because they are available over the counter at health food stores. When a homeopathic remedy is taken under the tongue at bedtime,...

The Long Term Effects of Shock

Oct 24, 2015 by

by: Caroline Walrad Ph.D., CN     ‘I knew all about how to behave during a gorilla attack. I had studied gorillas, read all the books. But somehow I hadn’t understood, from the books, how fearsome a gorilla charge could be,’  –TRAVELS by Michael Crichton Aconitum Napellus, the homeopathic remedy known to most as ‘Aconite’, is a welcome addition to a well- stocked home medicine chest. When someone is physically and mentally restless due to a sudden event, think of giving Aconite. When one felt they almost suddenly died, without warning, Aconite may be the best fit to release the symptoms from the incident. For example, my daughter was sleeping in her California bed as the Northridge Earthquake started. Unlike other areas of our home that remained unshaken, her bedroom felt the brunt of the...

How Many Layers is Your Onion?

Oct 17, 2015 by

‘It takes a long time to become young’   – God’s Little Instruction Book for Grandparents by Caroline Walrad PhD One of the best explanations of natural healing is to understand The Onion Theory. Just like an onion, we need to peel away one layer of symptoms at a time. Picture in your mind a white or yellow onion. It has an outside flaky layer of ‘skin’. When it is cut, it has rings, much like a tree. Each onion layer is coated with its own membrane. The core of the onion is larger and usually more rounded. We want our health to be more solid like the core of the onion.  When we are in the womb, our core develops. As we have trauma from unresolved illness, grief or shock, a new onion layer of...

Circle of Attraction

Oct 3, 2015 by

by Caroline Walrad, PhD Youth is hormonal. So is aging. No one escapes ‘The Circle of Attraction’. Many years ago I was driving down to beautiful Laguna Beach, California when over the radio came an amazing study done about pheromones. We can’t see pheromones. We emit these chemicals from our skin. They create our attraction or repulsion with other living things. And, we respond to others’ emitting chemicals. This is the way that butterflies attract butterflies, cats to cats, and humans to humans. We ‘smell’ and don’t even know it. It is a form of hormonal attraction. The study said that young people at puberty were attracted to each other through their pheromones only if their pheromones were more opposite of each other. Perhaps the attraction of someone, who is unlike us, allows the...

The Bully

Sep 19, 2015 by

Do not make yourself so big, you are not so small. (Jewish poverb) It is amazing when it comes to balancing the underlying reasons for being a bully. A child can shift overnight with homeopathy. Sometimes, it takes a bit longer. The bullying child will feel a relief within him from the stress he feels. Homeopathic remedy Lycopodium clavatum seems to fit most of the children and adults for this behavior. Other remedies may also be more of a match, but Lycopodium gets the gold star for want of acknowledgment. When Lycopodium is made from this plant moss, called the Staghorn Club moss, it is different from other remedy preparations. The Lycopodium has a capsule which contains seeds and oil, the oil having a crystalline nature. The oil is so hard that in the...

The 72 Hour Rubber Band

Sep 5, 2015 by

by Caroline Walrad, Ph.D. How stretchy our immune systems are can illustrate how ‘healthy’ we are. Illness seems to reach all of us. Having symptoms of colds, flu, coughs, and fever are common for us. We live in a world of organisms, most beneficial within our bodies, and sometimes we ‘catch’ someone’s ‘disease’ and our bodies respond with symptoms. Praise the short lived fever. I remember when seeing clients in Los Angeles, a number of them were members of a breast feeding organization. They would come to the office, knowing it was fine breast feeding in front of me, and did with their 6 month old, two year old and five year old. It was common for them to breastfeed until five or six years of age. Each child would take their turn. Interestingly...
